Fearless Milan Mitrovic There is a condition in human nature that can significantly affect how we live. At the very least, it can be a distraction, at the very worst, a prison. Even as Christians, most of us still deal with emotional and behavioral effects of this condition called “fear.”

Not surprisingly, fear is addressed in the Bible, especially by Jesus, who realizes we often suffer it unnecessarily. Of the 125 imperatives Jesus offers in the Gospels, the one topic he mentions most has to do with fear. The statement Jesus repeats most in the Gospels, or some form of it, was “don’t be afraid.” I believe Jesus was trying to convey something important to us. But have we listened?

The framework for this class is Max Lucado’s recent book entitled Fearless. In it, he looks at the different fears we face, and the ways these fears can undermine faith, distort our perceptions, and make life less fulfilling. Fortunately, Scripture provides insights and remedies for our anxiety.
