2012 Winter/Spring Session Meets Jan. 8th — May 20th (No meeting Apr. 8)
What’s your greatest passion in life? Did God create us for more than just living the “American Dream?” The Young Adults Small group is going to tackle these questions (and more) in our Winter session which starts on January 8th. We’ll be watching and discussing a set of video talks from John Piper’s “Don’t Waste Your Life” conference. For more information about Pastor John Piper and his ministry, see http://www.desiringgod.org/Why does it sometimes seem so hard to make life decisions about college, career,
marriage, family, job changes, ministry and so on, and be assured they fit God’s will for our lives? Can we get “stuck” waiting for details from God, possibly with wrong expectations or motives? Starting March 11th, we’re going to take on these questions with a book study of “Just Do Something – A Liberating Approach to Finding God’s Will” by Pastor Kevin DeYoung. In this short and lively book, Kevin DeYoung challenges us to think biblically about knowing God’s will for our lives, while avoiding pitfalls like anxiety, over-spiritualization, and misunderstanding the sovereignty of God. You can learn more about Pastor DeYoung, who leads University Reformed Church in East Lansing, Michigan here: http://www.universityreformedchurch.org/about-us/staff/kevin-deyoung.html
The group meets most Sunday evenings from 6:00-8:00pm at the home of Eric & Jody Kampmeier: 11317 North Grove Road, Sycamore (map). A light dinner is served.
